BATTERIES COLLECTING EVENT
Today, many families, companies and schools tend to throw used batteries into trash bins. Meanwhile, only one battery can pollute 500l water or 1m3 soil for 50 years.
Hence, EcoWrap wants people to be aware of this matter and at the same time, help to mitigate the danger of batteries dumping.

With companies and hospitals: (e.g: Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Heart Hospital, Vietnam Pharmaceutical Company,…). All of these places owns a large amount of batteries waste per day. Thus, the project will contact the management department to gather used batteries and contain them in boxes. Every week, the project will go to these places to collect boxes to recycle.
With educational centers: Large boxes will be placed at these centers so that students can bring used batteries from home and put them here. In order to get the highest amount of batteries, the project will start PR in some classes if being permitted by the centers.

All the batteries collected will be sent to Hanoi EPA – Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, No.17, Trung Yen 3, Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, one of the most prestige collecting and recycling areas in Hanoi.
TRASHBACK PHOTO CHALLENGE
Littering today is still a controversial issue in many tourist attractions and residential areas. Therefore, the project decided to organize Trashback contest (a challenge for participants to clear garbage in polluted areas as well as take photos of the areas before and after finishing cleaning job) in order to raise locals’ awareness and help make our city cleaner and greener.
The contest will open participation form in 2 to 3 weeks. Participants will clean up areas such as beaches, streets, their neighborhood… then, send photos of their work back to us. The best photographs will be chosen for the highest prizes and the prize structure will depends on financial board of the project, either in cash or items. At the same time, all qualified photos will be posted on the project’s page.
Our work continues ...
After Trashback Photo Challenge, we decide to keep gathering batteries in the area as we know that batteries dumping still exists. We also hope that the project can continue to reach out to more urbanites who have not been aware of its danger.
